I'm so sorry for your loss. When did your spouse pass? I only ask this to find out how far you are into the grief journey. As for moving forward, we all have to take it in baby steps, one day at a time. Coming here to share and listen to others that are walking the same journey helps. Melot, I am so truly sorry for your loss. You will find great comfort here from those who have walked and sometimes crawled this journey. This has been such a wonderful site for me. Moving from day to day without our relationship with our love ones is not an easy task, but one that involves many days of sadness and pain. It is a slow process with ups and downs, beginning with many down days. It evolves like a roller coaster of emotions. Being with people who are struggling with their own journey helps. my husband passed away 3 months ago and from this side.....when you're married to someone from a different tribe,death is what brings out the hatred amongst tribes!!finding support is hard because i am not accepted by his family anymore!!i thank God that i have found you guys and that it may get better for me!!!hugs...Melanie.

I think before you can move forward you have to figure out how to define it. Everyone moved toward something different and in different ways.

I understand Melanie . . . I never had the support of my husband's family from the start . . and certainly not in the end. I often think of those that are blessed to have the support . . but it wasn't in my cards, nor yours. I'm very sorry for this and I know how difficult it can be! My family lives thousands of miles away, so are not here as well. I don't have many friends in the state I live it, because I had just moved here when Jim became ill. Finding this site was a God-send and lifeline for me. I hope it will be for you also. By the way, I'm at 15 months . . and each day brings more peace and hope for a new future. You will and can survive this . . even against the odds stacked against you. We all have differing stories here . . we have our respective struggles through grief . . but we ALL get it. After five months I'm still working on moving each day, forget moving forward

My loss started on March 14th and I thought that the pain would never end when Barbara passed on. However looking back, although I still feel enormous pain and often weep, I realise that I seem to be accepting her loss better. I was suicidal when it first occurred; we had know each other for 59 years, and married 55. That seems to have passed now. Some days will be a little better than others. I find the lonliness the worst as I can only see my son and family once a week at the best. Otherwise I am on my own. Take each day as it comes. You are going thorugh the worst part of the journey we all have to take; please believe me it WILL gradually get a little easier. In the meantime, tell us your problems and we may have experience of them ourselves so can assist.
