So thank you so much for your kind thoughts today.
I forgave her once I found out why? She wanted to leave my Dad, my brother was a baby, but found out she was pregnant w/me I was born 1 yr. 21 days after him she felt she could not support two kids on her own in those days. I looked her in the eye & said I did not F*&^ him so I was not to blame. BUT knowing gave me some peace. SO I take her to appts, etc run her around but now at this time of her failing health I told my 4 siblings its their decision what happens I refuse to take any more blame for whatever goes wrong. If I was in on any decision that went wrong it would be my fault only. WHen I was diagnosed with breast cancer she told my good friend God gave it to me because I was a horrible child.
I am proud though I never got into drugs, drank, got pregnant in hs, worked myself upward in all my jobs, went back to college, and did it without her help while she helped my other siblings at times in their lives.
So this post is great to hear acknowledging such strugglings in society.

I always think that the task of having to pick out a card for mother's day is one of the toughest ones I have. So many of them are inappropriate. Thanks for your caring, love, and nurture? Nix. What about this one: "Mom, what were you thinking?!" "Maybe you should have thought about raising cactus instead!"
I know I did better with my three, but it's hard to parent when you don't have a positive role model. It didn't come naturally.
So, for all those who had loving mothers, and/or who have wonderful relationships with their children, Happy Mother's Day. For all of those for whom Mother's Day is difficult, just remember it's just another day. A day that greeting card companies, florists, and restaurants make a nifty profit on, but still just another day. ;)

I must say that after so many years have gone by, I have forgiven her and now I even pray for her, but all that pain was so unnecessary. She didn't get to see her grandchildren marry and that was her choice, as I tried and tried to reconnect with her so many times. It was hard to choose Mothers Day cards, but nevertheless, managed to find one and sent it to her. What I have learned from this is what I SHOULD NOT DO as a mother and grandmother, so I think there was a lesson learned in that experience. I never thought that would happen in my family, but it did, and I managed to survive it. She passed away a number of years ago, so in effect, I lost my mother twice.
