Today my son and I went to the clinic to refill meds. Every time I go there I feel very sad, because the three of us used to go once a month and see the doctor at the same time, basically to save time. On the way down there, I ran into an old friend of Tom's, who didn't know he had passed away...well...he does now. Every time I have to tell someone, it's like losing him all over again. Then when I got home, I turned on the TV to an episode of 'Hoarders', where in the end, the woman chose her stuff over her husband...I wanted to reach into the tv and strangle her! Here she is choosing a bunch of junk over her husband, where I would gladly give up every worldly possession I have to have mine back...

I haven't had to inform anyone all over again lately. it's been 4 months since my husband died.
but as for the TV show: I really have to be careful what I watch now. anything could set me off. it's awful.

I received a call from one of Don's friends yesterday, and he didn't know Don died. I told him what happened. That was my first encounter with that and I hope my last.

this has been one of the hardest things for me as well..With us being together in this town for 24 years, and my wife being the kind of person who "knew no strangers", everyone in town knew her.. still have to tell people sometimes..

its one of the main reasons for my move..just when i'm "ok" it happens again

oh my gosh that is one of the hardest things for me. I can't talk about him being gone. Eveytime someone asks me "how are you" I burst into tears. I have ran into some people my husband worked with or I have to go to get something from his employer and I can hardly talk. its so hard. Some say that gets easier but for me its awful. Hang in there hugs

This past week end, I ran into someone I had not seen in at least 20 years. Her wedding may have been the last time she had seen Howie. He has been gone 2.5 years and she was not aware of it. She had jsut told me of her divorce and asked if Howie and I were still together. It's hard ...

Everything seems to be a trigger! Good memories, bad memories it doesn't seem to matter. I have told my kids for years that their dad and I could be happy in a tent as long as we were together. I so want to believe that he is walking beside me. I too want to strangle people when I hear or see them doing something hurtful to their "supposed" loved ones. And to choose stuff over a spouse? Makes me wonder how sick in the head they are. Everything in this world seems to be so disposable including people. Yet we know the depth of our love for our husbands is the reason we hurt so badly now that they are gone. I have hope that there are reasons for this suffering. Will we be stronger, compassionate, caring and kind people because of it? I want to believe, otherwise what the hell was the point. Thinking of you, hugs and love, Michele

Since my wife passed away a little over a month ago I still have to tell doctors offices and other callers that she has pasted.

As for the TV, I have avoided any hospital type shows. We spend 7 long days in ICU watching her pass away from us. She died 2 days before our 29th wedding anniversary.

I noticed when people ask how I am or how sorry they are, I immediately avert my eyes. Maybe it's like taking a big sigh before I speak, but I can't seem to avoid doing it. I can then turn back, but I seem to need the moment it brings me to get my bearings back.

I'm starting to have the problem of running into someone I rarely see, and I can't remember, does the person know, or should I tell them?
