My son came to visit for the weekend and tonight took me to dinner. I really have not gone out on a Friday night since my husband passed. We met up with one of my son's friends at a pizza place. All I noticed was the couples and I actually felt a little envious. I am missing him more than I ever thought possible.

I think it is OK to feel all little envious you lost your husband. My husband passed 15 months ago. When I would go shopping I would see couples buying things together I would start crying. I hated to go to any store that went on for months. I am better at that now. I'm trying to move on I guess time will take care of things just be strong

I know what you mean. I see an older couple holding hands and I think "That was supposed to be Danny and me." It's hard. Hang in there; we will get through this.

Same with me. Especially when I see older couples together. I'm happy for them and I so want to tell them how lucky they are. But you know I never do. Just a nod and a smile.

I know whenever I see a couple my age or older I say "God, why do you love that lady more than me.?" Sometimes I'll see men who have huge bellies and look older than my husband was and I can't help but feel it's not fair that he was in good shape and died. I don't wish any harm to these people but it just feels totally unfair.

To Marie44...It was just our spouses time. I've been told by more than a few people our date of death is written in some book the day we are born. Do I believe that? I'm not sure. I'm not a religious person. But people die at all ages. Why they are taken from us I do not know. Perhaps our questions will be answered when our turn comes.Your right life is not fair but that IS life!!

I ask God the same question, "why do you love that lady more than ME"? You took my husband who was in good shape, worked out and all he ever asked for was to be with his family. He worked so hard to support us all his life and you took the opportunity for him to enjoy the fruits of his labor after 30 years of marriage- he was 50 and would retire early-- He was taken and did not get to enjoy everything he worked for all these years. I continue to pray and attempt to understand the situation. So heartbroken:(
