Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Your story touched my heart and I am praying for you daily that you will find peace, and you will. It has been two years, four months. I never thought where I would be, certainly not at two years. New in my loss, I welcomed wanting to be where he was, but life moves forward and if we have the courage to get up, get dressed and get out of the house, keep moving. It never ends, it just lessens. The memories are always at the forefront especially on Holidays and we cry because we missed them so much. Peace becomes so important and I have started memorizing scriptures. I have been in my current church for thirty years and never could. But this is my time because it has become so easy. So one of my favorites is "Be anxious for nothing, but in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your mind and heart through Christ Jesus."
May you be strengthened and comforted and above have PEACE.
