Today is the second of many first without my husband. But in this moment right now I’m ok. I did his jobs for the holiday and smiled remembering how he did it. I teared up once when I found his apron. But then I hooked it on the fridge for my son to use. My son will love that. It’s a new tradition. Who gets to wear dads apron on Thanksgiving and I’m ok with that. Love and miss you babe.

It's good you are both honoring him and starting some new traditions. Thanksgiving was a big deal in our house. Cliff did the turkey and I did everything else. We didn't do a lot of entertaining, but Thanksgiving usually we had people over. The first Thanksgiving after he died was a blur - he had died Veterans Day - so we were still reeling from the shock. Luckily friends made us dinner - there is no way I could have coped.

Each year has been different, and now I live in the UK where there is no Thanksgiving -- it's just Thursday here. I miss the old Thanksgivings, but am still doing my best do have a good one. I hope you do, too.

Im a 4 month widow,I lost my hubby in a car accident ,and it has never been easy since July 26th 2018.life is hell without him ,May His Soul rest in Peace

I lost my husband suddenly of a heart attack on Nov. 13, 2018. He was 36 we have 2 kids 11 & 6 so I tried to pull through for them I was surprisingly good
Which makes me feel guilty

I am so sorry for both of you. I understand the hell and also pulling through for the kids. My husband was my second half when things got hard I could touch him and draw strength. I feel like someone has ripped my shield away and now I am exposed. I count moments instead of days. I’m some moments I’m ok. In others I am tearful and heartbroken. In the good moments I don’t feel guilt I feel relieved the grief is soft.
