Brought my little dog back to vet, her liver was very enlarged - She was 13 and going downhill lately so I knew it was close. I had been up and down as to how bad she was or wasn't. Today I decided I thought it was time, I was glad I did, she was suffering more than I realized.
She was a human shelter dog from Warren PA when my daughter got her at age 1 or 2 when they moved again in the service we were supposed to keep her for awhile. Well she bonded with my dog so we just kept her in Washington State. She was a beagle/some little mutt type - howled like abeagle but much smaller....
My 3 1/2 yr old lab we got when she was 9 or 10 now is crying trying to go out the door looking for her.....
Its a sad day my Granddaughter was 2 when Mitizie became hers. SO she took off school and was with me when we let her go, came home, helped me bury her with my old dog Jessie's ashes and the remainder of my husbands ashes all together.
I had not decided when or where to spread the remainder of ashes but IT suddenly something my MOM said to me about Mitizie - I need to bury her where she lived her life even if I move. Why would I want to take them where they never lived. It felt really right....They are all together on our side hill I will plant some bushes or flowers that deer resist there when weather is better.

You did such a lovely thing for her, in resting her with loved ones also!
Every loss no matter when, brings all loss back tot he surface I know.
I've been taking care of the aquarium Greg has, and have been doing really well with it. I am allergic to animal fur, although I love DOGS and cats and gerbils, and hamsters, and all furry friends! I was so proud of how wonderful things were going. Today I lost his Plecostomus. (bottom feeder fish) that he had for about 7 years. I know it was "his time" and all with his life span, and he was just 'a fish" as some of my clients said, but I cried like a baby at the loss.
