Lost Money

Back in the summer I wrote that I was going on a nice vacation to CA and LV with my family. What I believe I never did say was that I had a good amount of cash in the house and I took some with me and left $2000 at home. When I returned - it was not where I thought it was. I tore the house apart. I searched every drawer, book, - you name it. Fifty times or more I looked in the drawer I thought it had been in - not there. I was sick over it. After living for years with so little money I was shocked it could not be found then assumed perhaps my brain wasn't working well and I never had the money in the first place. Figured I must have taken it all on vacation.

I have gotten on several occasions what I think are "signs" from my husband - they often come on a significant day too - My last day of work after being let go (I was recalled), my first day of vacation.

So after close to one year after he died my husband's ashes were buried today - or I should say put in a crypt in a wall. We had a little service where I read a poem. Surprised that I was so composed and "normal" at the funeral and now I could barely read my poem well. But - I have thought for months - I hope my husband will give me some kind of "sign" or something - it has been a while - I wondered if anything would happen on this day.

So this morning I was looking for something else and opened the drawer that I had looked in at least 100 times - there is not much in there - and opened the index card box that was in there and there was the $2000. I'm sure I looked in the box many times - The money could not have been in there before - and how "coincidental" that it would be found on the day of the service.

How wonderful. It's like finding a 20 dollar bill in an old pair of pants, except times 100!!! A sign, I think so and just at the right time. Happy for you!

I had something kinda similar happen with money after Frank passed away. So, YES< I believe it can happen.

Frank and I went on "date nights" out to eat and to the local casino about twice a month. I did not go for a long time after he died. But, before school started this year I decided to go..and I went on our anniversay because I felt it woudl be doing something that we used to enjoy together. I too $40 with me....my limit....and left two hours later with $1700. I know it sounds crazy but I took that as a sign from him on our anniversary. I put $1400 of it in the savings and spent the rest on myself. ..something I had not done since he passed away.

I love it! And I love stories like this! I know they are "up there" and just waiting for the right time to send us these messages. I'm so glad your 2000 dollars was found! That's a lot of money to go missing and I soooo relate to your "widow's brain". I would have wondered if there was any money at all too.

BTW - I still haven't found my chequebook yet! Maybe it will turn up soon, I hope so.

Missingfrank - congrats! I am sure your dear hubby was showering you with winnings on your anniversary!

WOW Great story...I have only had a couple of odd events, but they too have been on significant days. Other times, I search for something and nothing is there. It does seem awfully odd that these "coincidences" occur on special days.

That is so wonderful! It was a "gift" from your husband. I often wonder how things end up where I find them. I was very sad one evening, thinking about a gold cross I had given my husband right before we got married. Unfortunately, the clasp broke, and he lost it. At the house we used to live in 10 years ago. The very next morning I noticed my cat playing with something shiny and I went to take it away from her. It was the cross. I can't explain it. It made me feel wonderful.

I believe there are no coincidences in life. How wonderful to find that money! After Mike died, I couldn't find his wedding ring anywhere. He had to take it off for petscans and countless other tests, and he misplaced it. Then one day my daughter was looking on his dresser and actually found it. I was so overjoyed, and puzzled too, because I had looked on that dresser many, many times before. Gotta love those signs!

Wow, I was just reading up on the number 11. I keep looking at the clock at exactly 11 after whatever hour. Just seems to happen when I am doing something and look at the clock. It happens alot when I answer my cell phone too. Coincidentally today is 11/11. The number 11 is a master number and as far as numerology goes it is the number that opens doors between relms. Sounds offbeat for sure but it is so weird that I just looked it up tongiht and then read your post. We just never know, do we? In any event it's so good to have the money. Hug, Donna

how sweet. Glad that you had that come back to you. Lost Mike's wedding ring year into his care and so wish to have a miracle happen and bring it back to me now...I wear the one I gave him that I bought in the hospital gift shop for 3 dollars. Funny thing is everyone commented on it being so unique and mistook it for emerald...it's a seashell ring with metal. lol It did look good on him but I laughed when realized he was wearing it on wrong finger...right hand...guess with him being in the bed it confused me when I proposed and put it on him. He wanted to get a replacement ring like it in the last days but no time..

What GREAT news!! It is really odd that we look in the same place many times and then later FIND what we were looking for in that SAME place. LOL I don't believe in "coincidence", there is a reason!

Boy am I glad that I read this post. I thought I was going nuts because of all the little signs that I have been getting. Rodger always had a tooth pick in his mouth which I detested and now I am finding them all over the house. A picture of us has disappeared from a shelf in the living room and I have yet to locate it. I think my kids are ready to commit me to the loony bin so I have stopped telling them everything. Just last week our TV went out so I went and bought a new one. When I came home I tried the old TV for the last time and it had started working again. The last thing that Rodger wanted before he died was a new flat screen TV. Diane

Thanks for your great post. As you can see it has brought back happy memories for so many people who have all had similar experiences. As I read it I was reminded of what I would call a sign from my husband, he had made sure he had all his affairs in order and after he died all but one of his policies were paid without question. This one from his employer was in dispute , they kept trying to find reasons not to pay it. He was a negotiator even in his job and whatever he fought for he won always leaving people scratching their heads on just how good he was and got what he argued for. I was so distraught having to keep fighting for his policy I had just given up. I would not get that money and I knew it would hurt my family. Then a few months later after his death I opened my mailbox and saw a letter from the insurance company my heat sank I just knew if was a denial but instead it was my check for the entire amount with a letter apologizing.
He died on Aug 11th and this letter arrived on the 11th day 3 months later. I know that this was his way once again of taking care of his family because after they paid his policy the insurance company dropped that particular policy. Now he just leaves dimes everywhere for us to find. Our daughter was leaving the house the other night and she came running back inside laughing telling me when she walked outside a dime hit her head out of no where. She said dad is watching me!
