Hello Carrie, I am so very sorry for your loss. You have come to a caring place. We may not know exactly what you are feeling, but we are all on similar grief journeys. Take things one breath, one second, one minute, one hour, one day at time. Be very kind to yourself. Come here often. It is a safe, non-judging place. Cry as needed, rant as needed, scream as needed, share as needed, pray as needed. All here understand.
My wife died June 28, 2016 and I have been supported here, cared for here. We were married for almost 35 years.

Hi Carrie, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. You are still in a state of shock. There is a thick fog you will be in for a while. You'll have moments each day when things will seem OK, then the waves of grief will hit you again. You have to get back up and try again each day. Soon those moments will be longer. But it takes a long time. You must put one foot in front of the other and take little baby steps, don't try to rush as it only gets worse. Take your time, do it your way. Don't let anyone tell you how to do it. Everyone has a different way.
Its been 2 years 4 months for me. I am strong now, I've learned how to be independent. And believe me its not at all what I wanted. I loved our life together. We were best friends, we done everything together. He treated me like a queen.
Hang in there were here to walk this nasty path with you

Carrie: I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how very difficult this is to endure. It feels impossible and surreal. The pain can be so deep. Do what you need to get through each day. Keep busy or not. Be with people or alone. everyone is different. I lost my wonderful husband 13 months ago. We were married almost 30 years and he was 59. I can say I am much stronger now, the physical pain does subside. Just go day by day. Let tomorrow take care of itself. A bereavement group may help as well. I wish you peace in your journey.

Hi Carrie. I am so sorry about your loss. I lost my husband after a long illness as well. Even though the illness is long, it is still a shock when they actually die and, at less than three weeks, you are probably in shock. I am glad you found this site. We are all here for you. Sylvia
