4-14-19 will b 6mos without him. I Love my God, but I really miss my Husband. I always cry, people say U have memories but memories is what hurts.

I am sorry for your loss. The memories are painful at first; they will in time provide some comfort. The first couple of years are very rough. I hit the 6-month milestone just before our wedding anniversary. The flood of memories was so painful it was excruciating, and definitely one of the hardest times I had on the grief road. That was years ago now, and I bounce back more quickly now, but there are still moments when the memories bring tears. It has made me grateful for the ones that make me smile - and there are those, too, now.

You learn how to cope without them. It has been 3 years and almost 2 months since he died and I thought my life was forever over. My new normal is so different from before,I am working full time now for the first time in my life and live alone for the first time too.I had a beautiful dog and she died almost a month ago . My husband and her were best friends too. I no longer feel that unbearable pain anymore it has grown numb. I am always finding things to complete its helping me.Time does help with the initial shock ( Hugs)

I thought of writing thinhgs down to remember. But the writing about him makes me too sad. Maybe I will feel different about it at some point...

Oh dear girl! I know what you mean! When my husband died over 13 years ago, I was dev-vas-state-ted! There is nothing I know of that can possibly hurt so badly. The first year of grief is the worst. You never really get over him, but you will get to a place where you can see the light again and where you will be ready to explore the new things available to you in life. But right now, I know it's hard!
I felt the same was as you when people said "You will always have the memories". Yes, that's true, but right now, the memories hurt!!! They underline how gone he is and how much you miss him.
Someday, you will enjoy those memories. Some days, they will still hurt.
But I pray that you will feel God's nearness and His deep, deep love for you at all times.
