Thanks for the thought provoking post.
I had a great example of positive thinking through my Mother. She was always telling me that she just made up her mind to be happy and went forward. She was a positive thinker from way back. I've always been more of an optimist than a pessimist, and assume it is because of my parents. I thank the good Lord for the parents that I had!! They went through so many hardships during their lives, but, always remained pleasant (the majority of the time), and God-fearing, & God loving all the time.
I am thankful for the years with Joe and for the love we had for each other. Yes, there were some tough times in our marriage, but, we always loved each other ~~ no matter what the problem was. Do I miss him? YES! and always will, but, most of the time I am content now.
I am thankful for my 3 beautiful children and being able to spend time with them on Mother's Day. There is nothing better than being with all 3 of my kids! :-)
There are so many many things that I am thankful for that I certainly could never write them all down. Most of all I am thankful for Jesus and that HE is my Savior.
Being thankful, and looking to the positives, like my baby boy graduating, my daughter's first very brand new car, my stepsons' going off to college to become a fine man just like his dad was, are the things I focus on daily, and you are right. It makes the worse pai9nful feelings push off more than not.
And...I am thankful for all of you here who come back everyday to try again!!!
Love to all and to the posirives in life. They ARE there for us. We just have to look for them
