Mine, too, schoolgirl. It flat-out sucked. There is no pain or loneliness like this. But we here get it. We here can help each other find our new normal.

I'm so sorry for your loss. The loneliness of being widowed is really hard. No one really understands unless they've been through it. I'm at 3+ years. It's getting easier, but still finding my way creating my new life. Best wishes to you in 2018.

It has been just shy of 7 months since my husband passed. He was my whole world. We worked side by side for 25 years farming together. It wasn’t until he became sick that we were separated because I had to go out and get a job because he was ill. I watched him get sicker for 12 years until the day he passed in my arms still at home. You would think expecting would make it easier but it doesn’t. I do know I want to find what I have lost. I don’t want to be alone the rest of my life.

I am sorry for your loss it has been almost 4 months since I loss my best friend and love of my life.I understand what you are going through,If it were not for our 4 kids and my sister in law who lost her husband 20 years ago, she is still not over it, I guess we never do get over it. Hopefully it gets better with time.

My husband died on Dec 15. It is my first Christmas without him since 1993. I have been with him half my life.

Sorry for your loss and for your loneliness. It has been years since my husband died and the holidays still bring a bit of sadness, but nothing like those overwhelming first few years without him. Like pancakewife said, I had been with my husband for over half of my life. Ladies, it will get easier. Of course, it will never be the same, but you will be able to find enjoyment in life again. It takes time though. I am praying for all of you to be comforted.
