Hi Everyone. This Sunday would have been my sweet husband George's 65th birthday. He passed away July 16, 2011. So this is the first without him. My children and grandchildren are coming Sunday and we plan to have his favorite meal. He loved seafood and always wanted strawberry shortcake on his birthday. We plan to seend balloons up to him. He was a special person and will always be in my heart. Thanks everyone for being here this year. It has helped me so much to get through this hard time. Know we are all dealing with this and are here for each other. Love to you all. Terry

I hope that this celebration has you all remembering what this man's birth and life has done to touch each and everyone of your hearts forever. Know he'll be there watching you, remembering with you, and SMILING from ear to ear down on what a legacy he has!!

We decided knowing my husband after he died he would not appreciate rememberances of his death, but celebrations of his life so on his birthday we all get together and read his favorite scripture, release balloons at the cemetery and then proceed to his favorite restaurant.
It's a wonderful day, and the grandchildren understand it a lot better.

Happy Birthday to your George! I hope your celebration of his life is meaningful, full of laughter and happy memories. I love the balloon idea, and I am doing the same thing tomorrow for my husband. One pink balloon because pink was his favorite, but only one because he would be worried about causing harm to any birds.

Celebration of a wonderful life----happy birthday to George. We celebrate Stan's life on his birthday---we have had 2 so far and make it a special day of remembering his life. It is important tin our family to do this. We also celebrate his life on the day he died and band together. We often talk about Dad, Grandpa as naturally as possible, sometimes with tears, smiles, and laughs-----remembering our loved ones so important.

Blessings to you and your family as you remember the uniqueness of your special husband and honor his life.

My daughter will be facing father's day in her own special way. She hasn't decided yet what to do but wants to make it meaningful. She never had a father, her's died when she was 2.5 yrs old. Lee was the first father she ever had and they grew close immediately. It is so sad she only had 1 father's day with him. We also decided on a celebration of life party for his birthday. He turned 52 2 weeks before his death. We will always celebrate his life day, not his death day.
I love your ideas about what you are doing for his birthday. It gives me ideas too.
