Try not to be too hard on yourself. I got my health insurance cancelled by forgetting to pay for 2 months. Fortunately, I got them to let me back in if I made up the paynments. Now I pay 30 days ahead.

It appears that mortgage is only considered "late", on credit score if 30 days late (i.e.: missing a payment entirely). mine was slow enough to incur a penalty from mortgage company, but only 4 days past the "Due" date.
WELL,... maybe grief recovery is like a balancing act: emotions are in good condition, but the old brain is misfiring, big time . Now I recall one year ago, completely overlooking a credit card balance after surgery. I always pay it in full, monthly.

CaptainShip, true, that.! and, so, I forgot last years' brief credit card cancellation until This months' error dredged up memory. I lived fine in ignorance, surviving the good the bad and the ugly. It is All my story. and Not the worst of it, by any means! Will it matter in a hundred years? not at all.
