Just want to talk too. My husband passed away 8 months now. I live alone with 2 dogs 2 cats and horses. Taking care of his animals keeps me going day in and day out, gets me through each day. Yesterday, my older daughter came with her husband and 2 grandchildren. She pruned my grapevines, he helped cut the logs for the dump. The children found the miniature tea set my husband and I bought from Thailand from our vacation. I gave them juice in the small teapot and some chips to play tea party with. It was a joy to watch the little boys enjoyed the snack with the special tea set.

I'm having one of those days today too. I would just love to be able to talk to my husband. Its so lonely, so the same from day to day. I know just what your feeling and I am at 17 months. Some days are better then others, but when you think......this is it, you can go crazy!
I know about talking the same things too, then what do we talk about after all this time? If you want to talk I'm all ears, message me anytime.

I am so glad Violet started this thread. Needing to talk is such a necessary part of getting through the horror of grief. We often feel bursting at the seams with our heads so flooded with thoughts and yet we are alone. Thank you, Violet, for joining our group. Sharon

Hi.It's been 6 weeks for me and it does feel like a life sentence knowing I'll be by myself for the rest of my life. I have 2 daughters and a granddaughter who live with me, she's 4 yrs old and saved this last Christmas for us. Without her I would have cancelled it, and I'm not quite old enough to retire, so I still go to work, which helps. Sleep is a great comfort since I get to escape, so I sleep alot. Don't have alot of energy for property maintenance and such. I wish I could share some good advice but I don't know of anything that would help. We have no choice but to continue on. I feel like "till death do us part", meant both of us not just one of us. You're correct that unless you're going through this, well I don't think anyone else wants to hear us about it. That's why I searched and found this place. I'm always willing to talk and to listen.

Sharon is so right about talking. The times I go over the top is when I don't have someone to talk to. So thanks for starting this thread, Violet. We all understand the part about thinking we are making people crazy with the same conversation over and over. But if you read the grief books or as my grief counselor put it, we will have to tell our story over and over until we come to grips with it....and at just 3 months, I really need go talk a lot. Right now our loss IS the center of our universe and it's all encompassing.

I try and save some of my every day work for the evenings. Up here in the Pacific Northwest, it is cold and wet, so I can't work outside....I'm kind of stuck inside. I can't wait to get outside and get my hands dirty. We are on 4 acres and when spring comes around, it will require many hours to put it back together.

Talking really does help. Even if you sound like a broken record its ok. I'm home all day with my 3 month old and no adult conversation. I was on maternity leave when my husband passed almost 2 months ago. Being home all day will make you crazy, or least make me crazy. I'm always on this site and I'm home all day for at least another 4 weeks. The same thought about the life sentence is what I think about alot too. How am I supposed to get through the remaining years of my life when I can't even get through the hour without breaking down?

Violet................am here although not on line a lot..............would call you, or visa versa if that will help..............everything is so new to you and overwhelming..............I remember those days...............am farther along now and while I miss my love every single day.............many days are much better than in the beginning.........I remember thinking after I made it through the day, climbing up the stairs at night....................oh Lord........I have to do this all over again tomorrow............praying for us all..............L

Talking is extremely therapeutic. Even though I don't need her services now, I periodically see my counselor as it is the only safe haven where I can let it all out.

In the meantime, if emotions are building up, I openly talk to my DH. Conversation may be one-sided, but it helps.

I also have intense moments when I want to talk to someone and find that no one is available during those moments. I find that If I focus on someone other than myself, it helps.

This may sound silly, but starting tomorrow I'm going to email my wife and talk to her, tell her how my day went and what else is going on etc..
