It really is difficult isn't it? Even as time passes it only becomes more tolerable. Any activity where there are groups of people in happiness brings this lump in my throat and an emptiness in my heart. I don't resent their happiness nor am I jealous..perhaps envious...it is just a constant reminder of my loss. I think to struggle through it and I will become more comfortable with the exposure yet the longer I am alone the more intense the feeling. Different from the grief in the early days where the fog still swirls around and the numbness of disbelief remains, now the acceptance has settled and the days pass and I am struck with the realization that my days ahead could well be spent alone. A sinking feeling when my life was filled with the company of one I loved so dearly, now a memory. I am sure time will help in the healing and other's happiness will not weigh us down so severely. We will find our happiness somewhere, sometime again. Until then I understand exactly what you are feeling.

I understand your feelings completely The Good Lord knows that you are a woman of faith...whether you're sitting inside a church or sitting at home and saying your prayers. I "worship" at home and feel just as close to God there, as anywhere else.
So many sad moments recently, but then the reality is we still have blessings to count...gotta keep the faith, somehow.

I have myself in the same place for the last couple of months................know that not going adds to the dread of going again ..........like to watch Charles Stanley..In Touch.........hopefullly can get back one day...........hugs

I have thought a lot about going back to church and even talked with the minister about it....but I can't do it...yet......

I listen to the service broadcast from Marsh Chapel at BU almost every Sunday.....

I've had the same issues--I have many many Sundays that I just cannot face it and I don't. I couldn't face it on Mother's Day--but pushed myself to go this morning--it was ok but I can't say that I was able to worship as I should and I left before it was over. I just keep telling myself that I will get there at some point. Thoughts and prayers coming your way.

There is nothing wrong with your feelings. Your church is part of your experience with your husband. I sit way up in front when I go, so I don't have to watch the families and couples. I miss holding his hand.

Worshiping at home is right for you now.

I understand....when I am in church my emotions are right on the surface....especially on these days. Fathers day they will have all the fathers stand up to celebrate and I won`t be there....we will be at home knowing that we are thinking of all of us here, Hugs to you my friend,

I understand completely..I have found church to be one of the hardest things to do. It took me several monthsbefore I could try and face it. It has been six moths for me now still very raw most of the time. At first I sat where I always did and left his seat empty...now I actually have started sitting in his seat. YES...watching all the other "couples" is so-o difficult ..although that is difficult everywhere...even commercials of couples our age upsets me.

Some of the sting has lessened a little bit but the heart breaking and missing him has not. I have yet to find anything to help much ...still struggling.

Haven't even been on here for a while ...nothing seems to interest me much right now. I guess it is just up and down and we have little control....but I know I have to get a better handle on things and we/I will because there is no choice if we are to survive this whole.
