June has been rough...

I'm sorry I haven't been very active lately. I sometimes just quietly read what some of you write. But when I hit another rough patch you all help me get past it. June is a difficult month for me. Last weekend I reached exactly one and a half years without Wayne, and this weekend would have been our 10 yr anniversary. I've been getting through the month with a lot of extra work during the week and a lot of drinking on he weekends. It's almost over, but this weekend is going to be the worst one!
Is it weird that even the anticipation of the anniversary is so hard? Or that I feel like all I have to do is make it to July and this anxiety will stop?

Sometimes the anticipation is more difficult than the actual event. I can't guarantee that all your anxiety will disappear in July, but it is certainly an important milestone. I wish you peace in the coming months.

No. Not weird at all. My worse time of year is Christmas and New Year's. Hate to see them come, and love it when they are over.

I have also found that the anticipation of the day can be worse than the day itself. This month of June is rough for me too. Don died in June and this year it fell on Father's Day. It was a hard one this year. But I made it through and it's time to think about the good times again. Wishing you well. Sharon

With fathers day and my birthday in June it has hit me pretty hard as well even though it's the second year. I think I am also more aware this year than last. The year after her passing was mostly a blur to me and I'm now keenly aware.

Take care and hang in there. Also watch the drinks, they are depressants, believe me I know.

I agree, Fathers Day... Then June 19, 1965 we got our marriage license, June 25(today) , would have been his 68th birthday. July 3rd would have been our 49th Anniversary.

It has been 16 months since he has been gone. This is not the first, but the seconds.
