Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I'm so sorry you're here. Sorry we're all here. And we all understand this pain, loss, confusion, sadness, anger, etc., etc. My husband passed nearly 11 months ago after collapsing with intense abdominal pain, getting diagnosed with "poorly differentiated carcinoma of unknown primary" and dying 20 days later...we didn't even get to start any treatment. I know it's a blessing that his pain wasn't prolonged, but I'm sure in some ways I am still in shock.
Some expressions I've heard that have helped me are: "Your track record for getting through the worst days is already 100%", "He kept his vow to love you the rest of his life", "you don't get over it - you get used to it." Please take care of yourself. We are here for you!
