I wonder if something is wrong with me. In the last two weeks, I've cried once. I loved my husband. He loved me. I feel good. But shouldn't I cry more?

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Shock and numbness protects you now.
Take things a step at the time and be gentle with yourself.
Hugs
I certainly don't cry for hours nor all the time nor every day. I am profoundly sad but not depressed. I think "sadness" is a normal, healthy emotion...and some people weep when they are sad...others don't so much. Each of us is unique.
I was completely in shock, numb, paralyzed for the first 3 - 4 months after his death ... I rarely cried ... I couldn't. I felt myself crying inside my heart, indeed screaming, but could not cry out. Just like you, I felt guilty about not crying. The shock has worn off and now I'm faced with reality. I have cried in the last few months and sometimes wailed with grief. But I don't cry all the time ... not even every day. I am resigned to my new reality and am doing a lot of hard grief work so that I am able to live my life in a manner that will honor his life. Oh my God how I love him!
Everyone grieves differently. I am finding that I am normal ... you are normal too. Be kind to yourself.

everyone's grief is different.
I don't cry much I never have....
but my soul weeps often.............
We all express ourselves differently...
I cried a little tonight....
I am sorry for your loss.
Maybe through it all i have just come to the realization that my tears are useless, because my tears will never bring my loved ones back to me here, nor will my tears and heartache ever change anything that has and continues to break my heart.
I just caution you not to hold back the emotions out of fear. Many fear a total loss of control to let a tear fall. You won't break by letting the emotions out. Actually they are cleansing to the heart. But tears are one way we grieve. Not a requirement. You will grieve your loss in your way and in your time. Hugs, Sharon
