Please pray for my sweet mom. The doctor who did her angiogram on Tuesday said she needs to have open heart surgery to replace her aortic valve and repair an aneurism. She is going tomorrow to talk to the surgeon to weigh the risk between having the surgery and not having it done. She is a young, precious, sweet 73 year old... in good shape other than her heart. I lost my husband two years ago and don't think I could handle losing my mom right now. I would really appreciate your prayers for her...
I wanted to come to the GTG but I can't really make plans now since I don't know what is going to happen. I hope you all have a wonderful visit! May your time of fellowship help your hearts continue to heal...and help you experience life's happiness to the fullest...

Sorry to hear about your Mother - it's scary when the people we love face illness. I have a few friends who have gone through heart problems - surgery, etc. They can do so much now to make sure that people survive, and thrive!! The fact that they are looking into things, going over surgery options is good , in a way - when you have a heart attack, it's often too late. A positive mental attitude will help her get through all of these hard decisions. Sorry you have to go through more pain, after your loss, but hang in. Best regards, Vicki

I'm thinking of you and your mother. My mother is 89. She had aortic valve replacment 13 years ago. She was not in good health at the time, but has enjoyed years of good health up until very recently. She has aortic stenosis in the valve that was replaced, and does not want to have surgery again. Hospice has been called in, and I am taking care of her in her home which is over 400 miles from my home and career. Just last night I was missing my husband whom I lost December 2009 more acutely than ever, and being home, where we Iived for nearly 30 years, so very much. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you all so very much! Your kind thoughts and prayers mean so much to me...It truly does help to have good, loving people to walk through these things with...She went to her doctor today and he's going to do some more tests next week. She may have to have neck surgery first on her carotid artery. I'll be back asking for more prayer before the surgeries and, somehow, I know you won't mind! :) (((((((Friends))))))) Thank you!

Praying that the Lord will guide the doctors as to what treatment and surgeries will be most effective for your mom and for perfect timing. What a blessing to still have her in your life. Please keep us posted on her progress. TJ
