This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have been off the site for a while working a lot and joining some singles' groups for activities. I would really like to meet DS people in the Houston area for socializing....lunch, dinner, a play. DS has been great, but I need actual face to face time with people. Anybody interested?
It has been 1 year and 7 months since the loss of my soul mate (husband) . Family and "so called" friends are busy with their own lives. We get together occasionally, but they just don't understand the journey I am on. I have a church family who is always there for me, but I need to socialize with other widows and widowers. I joined a W/W group right after his passing, but their activities are 40 miles from me and very infrequent.

I had an email from Senior Chat free for a few hours. So I went there, I would like, not a relationship, but just something to do to take my mind off of reality. Anyway it was a bust, I live really rural and it was men looking for a relationship, hard to find any with a full set of teeth,.

I'm a working gal so during the day is difficult but to meet for chit-chat weekends and evenings would be so nice.
I already owe Master dinner and I believe in paying my debts, so I'm up for all of us getting together! It would be so much fun!

Anyone in the Winnipeg, MB area - would love to meet you. As for the rest, if I'm in your area on my travels, it would be nice to connect.
Maybe we should plan a conference or retreat? Can you imagine all of us taking over a convention or retreat centre for a weekend?

Dear Making . . . have you tried a local support group? You would likely meet other widow/widowers that you could be-friend. Just a thought.
I'm in no-where-ville SC (thanks to hubby), not by choice. Beautiful country, but no local grief support groups to be found here. Thank God for DS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
