Your post is good news. I know the pain that has been part of your life these past months. I'm glad you are seeing a light at the end of the grief tunnel. Marie: I am so glad you are starting to move forward and no your husband would not want you crying all the time. Some people get over their grief quicker than others and some it takes a long time.

GOOD FOR YOU! Most of the time it takes that WILL to live ~~ before you can really do it. We need to honor our spouse by living life to the best of our ability. I KNOW that is what my Joe would want ~~ he always told me if he went first not to mourn, but to live. Of course, I had to mourn, and always will love him and miss him, but, I do want to live life while I can.

Those are words I want to say also, I know I have to but am not sure what to do. I need to go back to work, have not worked full time since 2005. I need to upgrade my computer skills altho' Yakima is a depressed area not sure as my college degree is in Range Mgt which at my age now 60 and the fact those type of jobs are no longer easy to get anyway. How do you start a career or whatever at this age?
I worry about that as I financially have to get work so I can continue to live at all.

Marie..Bless you, I am so happy that you are feeling this way. Good for you!! I too want to live again. I love my husband but he would be so upset with me to be living under the darkness of pain and grief overlong.

Good for you! I do have moments like that, especially when I am with the twins. Bill would want me to keep going on and not sitting around moping. At a Christmas party we were at a local bar and I was sitting at the end next to a man. He wanted to buy me a drink, I declined. He said I don't think your husband would mind (wedding rings), I laughed and thought , no he wouldn't. Bill would have wanted me to be my friendly self and let loose a little.

Great Marie...:) I am also at that point, at least for the last 2 months...I also have my son and daughter and grandchildren who need me...and anyone else that God may need me to help....until I can be with my husband again. So very glad for you...~ blessings~ Debbie...:)

I couldn't agree more...to live is most important..we all to well know just how short life can be and not to appreciate that is not honoring the ones we lost. I will always love and miss my dear Buddy but if anyone loved life, he did. And I know he wouldn't want me to mourn and be sad the rest of my life. I am so happy that you have decided to enter the world of living...

I'm right with you Marie- I am so ready to move forward and hope this new year will spur me to do it- all the firsts are over for me and I'm sick and tired of feeling sad-- we can do this!

For me it's always been about "Fear" may sound silly but it's true! there's a part of me that just doesn't know how to!!!! although I'm a community activist and have grandchildren to help take care of... when it comes to me just me that's a diffcult situation! Blessings to all!

Good for you Marie. We spend so much of the grief journey fearing and thinking that we can never live again......maybe even a little guilty of thinking that we can live again. I want to live again too. I want to be happy and laugh and enjoy what is left of my journey. Here's hoping that 2011 will be that year of living again.

Welcome back Marie I have often thought about you. Its great news you are taking those baby steps to recovery. I know it take time to regain some purpose in life after our love and future seem lost forever. Our kids, grandkids, and friends need more than we know it just takes a long time to realize how much.
