This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Because of my move, I have been "internetless" for over 2 weeks. I am back online now but it made me realise how much I have relied on your support over the last few months. During these last two weeks, I sneaked a glance at DS when I visited some friends but it was not the same and I could not "go home" to it everyday.
I missed you all. During the next few months, I have organised a few trips round the world but my iPad will follow me. Hopefully most places will have WiFi. So it will be Lisbon for a few days, then Western Canada (my husband and I always wanted to go there, so I will in October and take him with me ;-). Then France to visit my family, then finally a few weeks in Australia to stay with my daughter and grand-children whom I have not seen for more than a year, really looking forward to it. I hope it will be an enjoyable schedule and that I will be able to cope. But wherever I'll go, my husband is coming with me in my heart and DS in my iPad.

I know the feeling. In the midst of fighting red tape I lost my internet for almost a month. My god, I had no idea how much I came to count on the support I found here.
You and a few others are some that I relate well with. So not having a sounding board was like treading water in an open sea.
"How long can you tread water." comes to mind.
I bought a MiFi from Cleartalk. You can take it with you anywhere. size of a cellphone. I got tired of not having internet too. The first month I had no income. So a lot got turned off. But I survived, and figured out alternatives. Now working on the Car Issue. It just goes to show, If it ain't one thing, its another. (Rosanne Rosanna Danna)(Saturday Night Live, circa 70's.....) lol

I did get a mobile Internet dongle (that is what they call it here). It worked for one hour. I went back to the shop who sold it to me. The young man there blinded me with IT science and tried to explain that I was probably not doing it properly, blah, blah, blah. I was so "dongled out" that I left the shop in a huff. Patience is not alas one of my many virtues.
I will let you know about my travels - the wandering widow's journal... My new apartment is really good, no need of any DIY (my utmost fear - even though I did put in all the hooks in the walls to hang my pictures and paintings, made me feel so empowered to do this little bit of hammering). The move went relatively well, no breakage and I now have a panoramic view of the local cricket club's ground.
