I understand completely! It is a great loss.

This is why I continue to be a part of this group. People here understand. I feel very isolated in my experience, unless for the rare chance I meet another widow, which rarely happens. People see you and talk to you, and don't have a clue about the loss you feel deep in your soul. My co-workers bounce out every Friday and say to me, "have a great weekend"!

I miss everything also. It feels like everything is wrong, that this can't be real and it's all a big prank. Then I remember seeing my wife in her casket and reality comes crashing in. I went back to work yesterday and none of my coworkers spoke to me except to say Hello when I arrived and have a nice weekend when I left, just like Lori said. It's going to be a long time before I have a 'nice' weekend. I am thankful that I found this group, these emotions and the feeling of profound loss is impossible to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced the loss of a spouse or partner.

Thank you for the poem. I would only change the him to her and blue eyes to brown. Her eyes were brown. All those things we shared together also.

To NEVER be able to touch him again.......it's just too painful to think about!

I remember when we were very young and we thought we'd separate from each other......he'd go live at the beach [such a beach bum] and I'd take our 3 children and go travel the world - [Oh! Sure! with 3 kids in tow!] Then, he looked at me and I looked at him, we went upstairs, closed our bedroom door and NEVER spoke of such nonsense again!

We decided that we'd MISS each other so much that we couldn't live apart.

The kids grew up.....and, so did we!

I totally understand how you MISS HIM!!!!

As our daughter would say, when I asked what she will miss about her daddy sean.. she said all of him, which means everything from the top of his head down to his little pinky toe... I will miss his love, laughter, easy goingness, his shoulder to lay on, his strong hand to hold, and his sweet kisses, his I love yous, and his emphatic I love you oodles and gobs forever and afters, in his texts to me every single day... There isn't anything I wont miss. But as my daughter says, momma daddy doesnt miss you, when your in heaven, they don't miss you, they remember you. I miss knowing that I could always count on him no matter what. I miss his unconditional love. I miss talking to him on the phone every day at work when I got back from lunch. I miss hearing his voice. I just miss him so damn much.
