Disbelief is quite the norm . . even after a year or so. The waves of grief and denial simply don't go away overnight.

Karen, I am so very sorry for your loss. We all understand and get you. I lost my husband not quite 4 months ago and come here often. Mostly late at night or even in the middle of the night. Having all these wonderful people to share thoughts, feelings and emotions has truly been so supportive. I don't know what I would have done otherwise. Keep coming here and often. Very sorry for your loss, Karen. I lost my wife 6.5 months ago, we were together 30 years and married 27 years....not a moment that goes by that I don't think of her. I share your pain. We all do. Pain ties us all together and that is why we meet here to share. Pain got a little more easily dissolved when shared...so please come often. Hugs, Tiger
