I just finished watching "A Star is Born". At the end of the movie, Lady Gaga sings "I'll Never Love Again". I cryed and cryed. I watched it on the Internet several times after the movie. It seems like it was written for my wife and I.
It has been awhile since I have posted anything of my own. My story is that my wife of 50 years (and best friend for 53 years) died on a trip to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. I have been acclimating to being on my our somewhat, but this song really got to me. I am sure it would hit most of you hard also. So don't watch it unless you want to cry also. I just needed to tell someone; I am not sure why.

It has been over 4 years since I lost Al and I am now feeling like I can face life again, live life again.
I went to see this movie with my boyfriend of 6 months; he is a widower of almost 3 years. I had not seen previous versions of this movie and did not know the plot, other than a new performer achieves success through trials and tribulations.
When I heard this song at the end, all I could think of was how he'd lost the love of his life (30 wonderful years together and 2 fantastic children) and I immediately started bawling in my seat. I cried all the way home (thankfully he was driving) and I eventually fessed up as to why exactly it affected me so much.
He appreciated my empathy and we are still going strong as a couple two months later.
I too have sought help through websites, videos and message boards on how to handle this new situation I'm in with him, and I look forward to reading more here.
