... about how I did things with my partner. For one, I wish I had a picture of the two of us together. I always took his picture then he would take mine. None of the two of us together. I wish I had pushed him harder to go to a doctor when he first started to feel bad. He waited 3 months before telling me he was ready to see a doctor. I wonder if he had seen a doctor sooner if he might still be here with me. Probably not since I had found that liver transplants here in Texas cost $400,000 is way more than we ever had available and he had no medical insurance. I have a few regrets stemming from our relationship but not many. At least I was able to be with him and take care of him when he needed me he most. That helps my feelings a bit. And the regrets? Well, there's not much I can do about them since the time to have fixed them was years and years ago.
I wish I knew more about heart issues a few years ago. Ray though early 60's seemed to not be as sharp, and he was a very smart person. I honestly thought his loss of memory was age related. Now reading posts from others and getting more information I think it was his leaking valve and enlarged heart, not enough oxygen to his brain. Wish I had known this 2 yrs ago and not thought it was old age..Would have taken him to the Dr. forced him to go. We're always over thinking this aren't we, like we have the power to have changed things..So sad, future looks sad, life looks sad..wish we could go back don't we? you seem like a very great guy, took care of your partner and friend the best you could have.. And that my friend will be well remembered!
