We had a power outage for 3 1/2 hrs today.

I waited for a couple of hours than it got cold, so I hauled out the big
generator, read the instructions someone wrote down for me, it started right up. A few weeks ago in middle of night could not get it going to save me so snuggled under blankets all night.

Plugged in the pellet stove, a light, got lanterns, other stuff out, turned off breaker boxes to water etc. ate my cereal (I forgot to eat this am) and just was settling down to a book or magazine and it came on.

A small feat I know, but heah, I never did this before myself, and it worried me I would be unable to do it. It made me feel good I could.

Being only 5' 1" I still worry there are some physical things I would not be able to handle. This was one.

Great Job!! You should be proud. It is hard to do all the things they did for us, but it does feel good when it is done!

Good for you. I find attitude has a lot to do with it. It really helps to feel a sense of accomplishment when we take on a new job!

Good for you, we may as well pat ourselves on the back since no one else is around to do it. Of course you have to do it otherwise. That was a big one. I was stressed about replacing a LED lightbulb and had to watch utube, thanks to friends here on DS who suggested it. I did it though and patted myself. I am impressed with all 5'1" of you. You must feel really good right about now... and toasty warm too... I think that is wonderful!! Great accomplishment and now you know you can do it.

We are resourseful little creatures, are we not? I've gound my self having to do many things I never dreamed I would ever have to or could do. Sometimes I end up with pie in the face and other times I walk away a winner. Trying, laughing, winning and sometimes loseing, slowly brings me back to the me, I remember. Great Job!!!

Good for you! I just went through this myself, although I don't have a generator. I was more concerned about being by myself for the first time in silence, now knowing how long the power would be off. It wasn't as bad as I thought.----just another first to conquer. We can do this and you did!

I'm up there with you, sister. I fired up a kerosene heater for the first time, only after pumping the kero at the gas station and hauling it home to fill the heater.

And, during our last snow, I not only checked the oil and filled the gas tank, but fired up the snowblower and ran the darned thing.

Proud of myself? You bet I am.

Way to go, girl! Now if I could just figure of the innards of the toilet tank...that has always mystified me!!
