Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have collected a lot of articles in my journal section. I think that doing so has helped me. You can take a look at it if you wish. But long story short, if you can allow yourself to feel and to express various loss, it will be painful each time, but you will feel stronger as well. Try to build your confidence a bit at a time, and try to be around people so you don't feel isolated. Try to think about happy things. Life may not be as grand, but you will find enough strength to move on day after day, and week after week. Each time when grief grips you remind yourself that this is necessary, and like euphoria, this shall pass as well.
Hugs, Laurie
Right now, concentrate on you, concentrate on being kind to yourself. I spent a lot of time working on being the person I wanted to be, a person I enjoyed spending time with and being. I learned to try to grow through my grief, to accept my faults and flaws, my broken heart. To realize that broken heart made me a better, kinder, more compassionate person. That I could still use my broken heart to do good in this world and my little life. And I met someone, who doesn't love me the same way that J.R. did, but loves me in his own way, and I love him in my own way, the way I am now. And it is messy, wonderful, tragic and brilliant. It's love, it works. We aren't perfect but we are kind and loving. I say Pat is my second chance not my second choice.
Breathe, grow, grieve and expand. See where life takes you, you never know what is around the corner.
Hugs,
Val
