This was her special holiday and she loved Christmas. She was also a big Star Wars fan and I am sad I won't be seeing her excitement about the movie coming out next week and bugging me about when we will see it.
I am treating Christmas as any other day this year. We had no children so I won't need to fill any obligations except getting through the day. I will keep the true meaning of the holiday in mind as she would want me to but that will be personal and alone.
Best wishes to you and everyone here for this holiday season.

The holidays are always the hardest for me because Donna loved to decorate and cook and do all the things families do this time of year. My oldest son, his wife, and my grandson live with me and it's only been this year i really helped to decorate the tree. It still brings tears.
Just know she will always be with you, living inside you always.
Take care of yourself and I wish for you a peaceful Holidays.
Jeff
Just take it a step at a time. I'm also having a hard issue with this since it's only been a month today that I lost my soul-mate. I've avoided calling my mother-in-law and going over to see her since Thanksgiving because I still fill guilty that I didn't save her son. I should have done this, that or the other thing. I know it's stupid but just the way I've felt. Going over tomorrow and it's going to be hard as hell going to the family home and all our memories there. But, just be with family and friends when you need it. Don't be alone it's worse that way. She wouldn't want you alone! Wishing you the best and here if you need to talk Hugz
