Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I know how you feel, my husband passed away July 29. Call a friend and cry on their shoulder and see if they will come to visit you. Talk to people, write to him in a journal. Just hang in there.
Keeping you in my prayers. Kathy

Lean on us to help you through it. Read and relate and you will find that comfort lies in the stories of others. You will find that you really are not alone, we are here. Know that you will pull through this.
One day, you will remember and smile and thank your stars that you had those years with him. I have been without my booglie bear for a year now (impossible to believe, even for me). These days I only cry at night or when I am alone when before I was sad all day. Will it get better for me? Well, don't know yet, but I do look forward to what is ahead.
Stay strong sister!
I pray that things get better for all of us.
I understand where you are right now, going through this myself. It's been approx 18 months since I lost the love of my life and recently retired. No, it isn't supposed to be this way, as you said we are supposed to grow old together, but sometimes life doesn't play fair.
I don't know that you ever really "get over it" but you begin to remember the fun things, the special times, the goofy things you did together that made you laugh, or that goofy expression or saying that your loved one said or did that just made you fall down laughing. You also learn to be thankful that they came into your life and made life a wonderful thing and worthwhile.
It really does get better, Marie, hang in there. We are all pulling for each other.
