Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Hope next year will be easier on us and we will all be stronger emotionally. GOD BLESS!
What you say when you say do what's best for you; stay home, go out, be by yourself, be with others.....do what you need to do for you, it's not quite that easy and cut and dry for some of us.
I'm sure there are many of us who don't know what to do.......don't know what's right, what's expected, what's fair, what their loved one would want them to do, etc., etc. We don't know how to think as "one" now, in the singular. Some of us won't eat out alone, or drive alone or go to a party alone!
It's difficult to grieve and not hurt someone along the way. We have to tell them; "sorry, I'm not up to going out right now!" We're unsure of what's the right thing to do, what's the appropriate response, will they understand and not take it personally?
We had someone to bounce these things off of, someone who had our backs, someone who wouldn't let us get hurt and would take the blows for us! We don't have that protection anymore and it's pretty darn scary out there!
So, if I don't accept your invitation and if I appear to be ignoring you, please give me another chance and don't give up on me.
I wish you well,
Roz
