Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I hope you eventually find comfort in the good years and those thoughts are in the forefront instead of the sadness.
My thoughts are with you.

I can so relate to what you wrote about that it was supposed to be so different. I hope this day brings you peace, at knowing you are surrounded by so many who care so much. I know it is not the same, but it speaks volumes as to just how loved the two of you were and still are. It is a true gift.
For me, it was the holidays just past. Greg was supposed to receive a liver transplant, and by the holidays we were to take the honeymoon we didn';t get to because of his condition and his treatments. I so understand. I thought the same thing as the holidays approached. There were so many milestones in them, but one thing i thought about so mkuch was about the trip we didn't get to take. To celbrate our wedding, our love, and his new health and lease on life. It is really hard to get past all of that I know. And it's harder still when there just are not any answers.
Please know you are not alone, and when you celebrate his birth, and your finding one another, I will be thinking of you, and wishing for so many more good memories than of what didn't happen. Instead I hope you remember what did. that helped me and i hope it helps you too.
HUGS to you today Diane

I ran into one of Bob's friends yesterday at the store and this friend told me how much he was enjoying his new job. He said he wished he could thank Bob, but he'd thank me instead. I really didn't know what he was talking about, so he explained. It seems that Bob had gotten another friend to interview this man, even though he didn't have any openings in his company at the time. Turns out, a few weeks ago the man was called by Bob's friend to fill a new job. This man was so grateful -- he'd been out of work for almost 2 years.
It seems like someone tells me a Bob story or calls or emails just when I need it most. I can see Bob's hand in it all.
Thanks again!
