This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
My husband Steve passed away in October 2016. Not 1 single moment has been normal since. I go to work and I cry, I go to the grocery and I cry. I can almost deal with the crying. Its the night time. The hour when all your family and friends are settling down with their kids or spouses or significant others and I am left here all alone not knowing what to do with myself. I had joined a support group but it only made things worse for me. I felt bad that I got angry hearing about the nice long life these folks had with their spouses.Steve struggled to make it to our 10th wedding anniversary, he died 19 days later. I'm mad and sad all the time. I don't sleep well. Apparently this is normal behaviour.

My children and I are 3.5 years without mom and even though we are living and doing, the pain of moms absence is always there with us.
Cry when you need to, post as often as you need to.
For me, my husband was 4 months from retiring, so this is retirement, ALONE.
For all of us we have our grief, our journey has changed.
