One of the issues of widowhood is wanting to travel and not knowing or having anyone to travel with. I was lucky to make friends that have the financial and personal freedom to go places at the drop of a dime.

There is a web site I was looking into, and would not hesitate to travel with. It is Sights and Souls Travel. All women. The destinations are awesome. Some are pricy, while some I find to be reasonable.

They also have a FaceBook page where you can read postings from others who have travelled with this agency.

When the time is right in the grief journey travel can be just the right medicine after all the pain and despair. It allows you to recharge and reengage with the world. The info you provided here could be truly helpful for some. Gerry

Thank you for the information. I traveled alone with a group most of my married life, as my husband told me after our fourth cruise, that he never liked traveling. So I am thankful that I am not lonely in my traveling. My tears flow when I have to have someone take me to the airport and pick me up. He would always be standing by the luggage claim when I came down the escalator coming back from my trips.

My husband and I loved to go to the caribbean and traveled there at lease once a year. We were really beach lovers. Next trip was to be December to St. Lucia. Cannot imagine going on that kind of vacation now. I would just miss him way too much. I do hope that he is in heaven drinking a gin and tonic under a palm tree with a big smile on his face.

I actually took a trip with OAT. Small groups of 15 or so. GREAT experience. For me, at only 5 months out, it was too soon, but I will do it again. I am booked on a trip to IsraeI/Jordan leaving in a couple of weeks. Going with another couple...still kind of alone in that sense. And I DID book a river cruise for April. ALONE! But right now, Avalon Waterways is having a no single supplement promotion, and I figure there will be other singles. If not, there are plenty of people to meet, and lots of activities that do not require partners. It is challenging, but you can do it.

Msg me Debbie (or anyone else). Maybe WE would be good travel companions! I've been to 26 different countries and want to hit 50 before I die!
