Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Welcome to this support group, Marie. Please know that there are many of us in this group that really do care about helping you in any way that we possibly can.
Hugs to you.
Compared to when he first passed May 22, the pain has become more bearable, but it is still there. Forcing it to go away is the worse thing to do. Trust me, I know. Don't take advice, but try to follow your instinct and conscience, if you are able to feel it right now.
We are here. I am attempting a group bereavement group on the 14, even though I don't want to go. I also attend private counseling and would not know what to do without it. Two avenues of choice for you, when and if you are ready.

I think death is no easier to understand than life is.Someone wiser than I must be coordinating things. The thing I do know is it's part of a bigger plan this experience here on earth. Accept it and try to find pieces of peace anywhere you can. I'm here of you need to write Sharon
HOPE THIS HELPS, RIP.
Reading what you wrote and hearing what kind of pain you are in brings it all back to me. My husband died on new years day, and there are times when it feels like yesterday, but even though the pain and the longing are still there, it is more bearable now. I found the best thing for me was to talk about it, over and over again if you have to, find people that will listen to you and not judge, and who really care about you. I still talk about it a lot, and when I do the pain comes through, but it really does make it better somehow. I think it makes me feel less alone when I share it with people that care about me. Take heart Marie, we know how you feel, we really do. I wish there was a way around the pain, but you have to go through it. My husband was 55, so am I. I never thought I would go through something like this so young. He didn't have an accident, he had pancreatic cancer and died less than 2 months after his diagnosis. It's Hell no matter what happened, accident or illness, quick or slow.. Even if the situation is different, the pain is the same. Be kind to youself, let yourself grieve as much as you need to. I sometimes remember what happened and get so angry that I want to punch a wall or throw something that will shatter into a million pieces since that is how I feel sometimes; shattered. This really is a good supportive place. Write here as often and as much as you want. We'll listen.
If you need to talk I'm here.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Much like AliceRen, I had just talked to Rich on the phone, discussing our weekend plans. An hour and a half later, I received the phone call telling me he had passed.
We had been together for 40 years (married 36) and we were constant companions. We did everything together!
Nearly 7 months later, I still cry my heart out each day and long to be with him. It is my goal in life because I do believe we will one day reunite.
No one knows or understands why God takes away "beautiful love", but one day we will know the answers.
My love to you and write me any time! Mo
