So yesterday I watched the movie Heaven is for Real, based on a true story of a young boy who has a near death experience and "goes to heaven" but does not die just "visits" heaven. I am not sure how many people have seen this movie but I liked to think that what was shown in the movie and depicted as "heaven" is something similar to where my Manny went to. It was peaceful, beautiful and amazing. I know its just a movie but although the movie has other meanings I took the most of what this little boy "saw and depicted" of what Heaven was. I thought to myself "I only wish this is what my Manny felt and something similar to what he saw when he passed" Although none of us really know what Heaven looks like.

It is a sad movie and I cried but some how Heaven is for real made me realize Manny had a great ride to heaven and is in a beautiful place. Does not take my pain away or make my days easier but I know he is in HEAVEN........

Interested to know who watched this movie and what message you took out of it?

No film can begin to show you what Heaven is like, but that it is real is true and it is our true home. 100 years from now we will ALL be there, united and happier than you can know xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I watched the movie too...I thought it was a good movie. But I knew based on my faith that my husband was in heaven before I watched it. It was a good reinforcement that we WILL know our loved ones in heaven...the little boy knew his grand father and sister whom he had never met. Heaven is going to be more wonderful than we can fathom.

I too based on my faith knew before I watched this movie that Manny went to Heaven. It was just a realisation that Heaven must be even more amazing than any of us can imagine and I know we will all be there together one day. I did not mean that what the film was depicting about heaven was real simply took a message of how amazing it might be.

I watched the movie a little while before the holidays (which happens to be the anniversary of my soul mate's death). We all wonder why him/her? Why now? Etc....After having watched the movie I liked the idea that he is on the other side so he can take care of the two little ones my daughter miscarried - one miscarriage the day after his funeral the second one on the day of his first year anniversary. For my part I look after the two that she has on this side of the world. One he met and was able to know for a few months, the second one born last spring. We are both busy looking over our little ones. Before his death when he was asking me what was he going to do "over there" (he had brain cancer - his brain was unfortunately no longer always coherent). I answered him that his job was to look over our daughter and our grandchild from where he would be. I like to think that is what he is doing. The movie goes along those lines and that suits me fine. Whatever it takes to keep going right? Driftersoul.

I read the book and I saw this movie when it first came out at the theatres with a friend of mine. It was reassuring but it still doesn't keep me from missing him after 5 years.

I saw it as well and as others I knew before seeing it where Donna went. I do believe his experience was an honest one. There are too many examples of others who have had similar experiences. Just search on google for the term NDE, or near death experiences. Since my wife passed I have read about 30 different books on this subject. Almost all of the experiences I have read are very similar. A bright light, maybe at the end of a tunnel, maybe not. A friend or relative as a greeter. A non-judgmental self life review. And a feeling of total love and total knowledge. And then a point where they either go on or come back.

My brother had a very bad heart attack a few years ago and after my wife passed he shared his NDE he had. He saw the light, felt total love, and he said when they revived him he was actually mad they brought him back from that. They had to shock him 10 times. His heart had stopped for several minutes.

I know where we are all going and I will be honored to meet you all someday :)

I agree, Jeff. There are too many documented experiences to doubt heavens existence.
I know in my heart that there's a heaven, my faith wouldn't let me believe anything different.
I read a book, HELLO FROM HEAVEN. Even the authors were surprised at how many people shared their experiences about the afterlife.

We'll be reunited with our loved ones someday.
