Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
In time, you will want to be with yout friends again. I did the same in the beginning. I couldn't handle all the couple things going on. Now it's easier for me, and I hope the same for you.
SURE you are envious! That's so NORMAL to be! you want what you had, and there's nothing wrong in that. Especially for me when a spouse breaks bad on the other, I just want to scream that they HAVE one another, and be greatful for that! I usually say at that time that I WISH I had that problem in the grand scheme of things.
It will get easier. I can promise you that. Better? Probably not, but easier to deal with, yes.
HUGS and hopes on it getting easier down this road a bit.

I too am thankful that christmas is over, the first without my husband
Your feelings are real, the pain, the loneliness, and the envy of others, (that is okay).
Hold the memories of Lewis close to you, remember holding his hand, and how it felt running your fingers through his hair. You will cry, but, these memories will keep you. I wish you peace for the new year,
(Hugs)

I find anytime I see a couple I think about how lucky they are and they probably don't even know it
Wishing you some healing for 2012 and beyond..........hugs
Sending you hugs and prayers. It is so natural to feel hurt, envy and extreme sorrow with the terrible loss you (we) have endured. As I have shared before, I felt positively cheated out of years of happy marriage with my husband. I am so sorry about this for all of us.
It takes awhile (or at least it did for me) to want to be around couples again. Just being around couples as the single one again caused pain for quite awhile for me. As some have shared here, even seeing couples out walking can hurt. It is natural, all of it. None of us wanted this to happen, so when we see others who have what we lost, well we want our lives back, too.
Keeping you in prayers,
Shar
