In the two short, yet long, weeks that I have belonged to this group, I have read of so many "firsts" that my friends have faced. Often times, the day went pretty much like the other days in grief. Other times, tears dominated the day. Barbara's 58th birthday is in two weeks. Her birthday will follow four days after the third month anniversary of her death. I don't look forward to either occasion, but i know that I cannot stop time either. So I will "go with the flow" on those days, and I will trust in God and my friends here at DS to see me through. They have not failed me yet, and we won't fail you today. We're here if you need us. USE US........Joe...:-)

danny's birthday was aug.26th,it was the first birthday without him.
i released balloons in his honor,i watched those balloons soar out of site.

These occasions that we must get through are difficult but with the many who support us here, we get through them.

I juat saw your post and "Happy Birthday Pat." The first of everything is hard, but we do survive, some firsts' were better than I thought they would be, some were worse.We all grieve differently so we really don't know what to expect. I guess a lot depends on where we are emotionally on any given day. My Lord has carried me through 2 yrs now, so we do go on, and can go on, and hopefully we can give hope to others. Hugs, Jerrie

I am sorry. All these important dates remind us of what life was and now is not. We will have to get though it. Rob and I would celebrate our 16th. anniversary this coming Sunday. My birthday is Saturday. I've lived through Rob's birthday and understand how hard that day is. You have my sympathy now and for all those upcoming dates. Glad we all have eachother here on DS. First, let me say Happy Birthday to Pat. Yesterday Sept. 8th was Bobby's birthday. It was bittersweet for me since I met Bobby a year after my husband died in 2008. Bobby and I worked on a genealogy project he wanted done on his family and having the experience he asked me for help. I helped him till August 25th, when I found him dead. He never saw it completed but I buried a copy of it with him. NOW that I've moved on and remarried someone I met on this site. It still was a hard day for me. I never mentioned it to Rich, my present husband, I didn't want to throw my past at him. We are both struggling with the loss of spouses (and my friend). I don't post on this site often now since I've moved on with my life. Rich and I are very blessed to have found each other and are enjoying the rest of our lives together. I wish you the best!!!
