Great I am related to neither but remember the fight with my neighbor over water issues. SO far this summer we keep playing musical chairs with pulling water gate up/down to keep the legal water useage legal. WELL he put a lock on the gate - illegal! The water master when I was in Boise has been over and around for last 2 wks checking on situation (luckily my good neighbor has been letting him know whats been going on) SO I am now being told MR bad neighbor (BN) has caused the legal authorities to shut the ditch down for overusage for the year, right in the hottest part of the yr. I KNOW I WILL BE BLAMED - the DOE authority guy said he has documented enough to put the blame back on his documentation to take it off me. Tell BN that.
AND he stated my water reports show I have truly tried to regulate our useage correctly. IF BN turns it back on $5,000 fine each day!!!!!

I am worried - plus I am still so down with this awful cold - hacking cough, stuffed up so I am not feeling real great now I am tippy toeing around he scared me the last confrontation so I am making plans to figure out how to dodge him - and protect myself. This water ditch rider said more disputes over water rights are one of the worst neighbor feuds...oh great.....now you know what I feel like a Hatfield or am I a McCoy - My good neighbor just said (he was present for the information to me) we need to get your place sold!!!! I am going to plaster a copy of the US State Court Order on our water useage allocation!!!! I am lucky I do not need this for irrigation !!!

Oh, my, I hope you do get to sell your place SOON! You need to be away from BN!! I'm glad you are thinking of ways to protect yourself from him. Prayers going up for you.

Nicker-This BN sounds like a real jerk. Did you ever think of getting a restraining order so he can't come near you? I don't know the in's and out's of that but it's something you should look into. I don't know if you are a Hatfield or McCoy either. Be careful......Hugs, Chris

Oh my...you need all of this like a root canal. At least a root canal would be done and over with and not ongoing. I'm so sorry you have this neighbor on top of feeling so sick. Yuck!!

I used to have issues with my neighbor before my husband moved in. Then she knew him from years ago so she was so nice for many many years. I wondered when I lost him if it would get worse for me again...so far a little worse, but livable.

There are two neighbors that vacated their homes and another house in on the market. I'm sure this all has decreased the value of our homes here a LOT.

I like that mostly the neighbors here are very nice and supportive. Good neighbors are GOLD in my book.

Once again I am sorry you have to deal with this. I hope it improves some how some way for you....and please take good care of yourself and get better....

What a shame that you have to deal with this neighbor. Life is way too short to fiddle around with such an inflexible, selfish, short-sided fool. I hope you are able to find a buyer SOON!!! You need a little peace in your life. Blessings and hoping that you can keep your cool (not easy, I'm sure) while this gets ironed out. TJ

OK I talked to local sheriff in area - he is worried if I do a restraining order (sometimes not worth the paper) and beings way up here am I going to aggravate him more. The sheriff is going to talk to water guy, find out when the letters to us all are going out, exactly when he is going to shut water down - and than he is going to let my good neighbor guy know - and he is thinking of having one of the locals place two boulders in my driveway - and placing a gate across if I wish???? One If I sell they can take it down (done at community expense knowing I can remove anytime) That may be a good option - he can get in if I block it...Course he can walk up the hill side into my place - so I booby trap it (just kidding) - he also told me if I arm myself (I have a handgun) do not bring it out unless things get real bad - gave me scenarios _ and told me its documented he told me those scenarios so I do not get in trouble. His talk helped calm me down...I CAN DO THIS - he said the key to this is knowing to listen to my intuition when I need help or NOT. Sheriff will be talking to BN once the water is shut down with his options of leaving me alone. Anyway thanks for listening to my panic.....getting it out blowing off steam I think helps....thanks so much....

Sorry, hope you can get out from under this mess real soon. Can the authorities (someone/anyone?) remove the lock? Or would that make the problem worse? Is it locked up or down? Sharon

@ Sharon the legal water master (I guess thats what he is called) took the lock off. Thats when he began to figure something weird was going on. And started from my water usage reports seeing too much water was being diverted and started doing his own investigation which is why the figures show too much water for season means shut down. Before this BN would put the gate down diverting too much water to our ditch - I would pull up to regulate correct amount (something my husband did - and this BN was supposed to take over but last 2 seasons did not) so I was taught to take these measures which showed me what our water useage was and bla bla. BUT that is what caused neighbor to get irrate on me doing - I was being legal he was not....AND he was running the water so strong it was flooding my place before it even got to his (wasting water) place. Many neighbors say he is against women so dealing w/me irks him more - dealing w/my husband he did better but the legal water guys said Roger even had some concerns about this...but Roger was able to keep him at bay sorta speak - SIGH I have to keep cool, calm and do not let him get me down or upset.....

Diane, it sounds like you have got everything covered and know how to stand up for yourself. Always be on alert but hopefully you can sell your place and get rid of this stress that you do not need. Sorry, you have a BN to deal with on top of not feeling well ....take care....hugs

What a nightmare this has been for you! What doesn't kill you DOES make you stronger and you are living proof! Glad you have so many people supporting you. So sorry you're having to deal with this jerk. Hang in there!! You're doing a good job!!
