I am so sorry that you lost your husband. Birthdays are so hard as well as other special days and holidays. My heart goes out to you on this day. I too am trying to live in a way that would make my husband proud of me. I believe he is up there in heaven looking down on me and it so matters that I honor his life in that way.

Happy birthday in heaven to your love~
I lost my Joe ten day before our first anniversary. We never got to celebrate that important first and I know how devastating it is. I was already planning a huge 60 for him this upcoming september and I stil want to have something with my family and a few of his friends. Joe loved people celebrating his day and i will be sure to do so.
Buy yourself some flowers and look at them in their beauty as a celebration of your David's special day.

Thanks everyone for your support. I bought some flowers to bring to the cemetery and saved a few to enjoy at home. After the cemetery, I had a nice lunch with my parents, in-laws and godmother. Later in the evening, I went to the movies with my siblings and had a few good laughs. I ended the day with a glass of wine at home, toasting to my husband's 40th birthday. I would say that he was definitely smiling from heaven.
