Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Has anyone else had this happen?
Warm hugs to all walking this most difficult path...
Just hang in there.....you can do it....

So I just cry when it comes and wash out my Heart, because I know if I hold it inside it will tear me part...Just give it time and accept the reality that you will have set backs from time to time..
I know we all say we want to feel normal again, but this life I'm living now without Dennis is just a new kind of normal for me.. It sucks, but it my new normal without him.. I talk to him everyday and ask him for signs he's still around and I and my kids have received many from our skeptic..It's what keeps me going and they seem too come when I most need them..
I love this site and the many wonderful people who have helped me through this journey of loss..And I hoped I've helped a few travelers along the way..They literally saved my life..I left for a few months, but I know when I need to vent my return sadness they'll be someone here to help me..
Love and hugs to all...Gail..Don't cry because it's over..smile because it happened..;-)
"Grieving is a necessary passage and a difficult transition to finally letting go of sorrow it is not a permanent rest stop"..Dodinsky..
The ups & downs do level out, not as frequent, don't last as long
Unanswered questions, unrealized dreams do cause pain at times
Little steps..
Accomplish what we can
Grieve as necessary
Give ourselves the time we need
Only each of us individually can know when we are able to take on more
Each days dawns with new hope, possibilities, challenges
Some aspects of our former life fade, other times they cascade back like a never ending waterfalls
Pray for strength for the day
He is faithful
