So I finally went to my appointment, after I asked all my type A questions of you guys. I am grateful for the encouragement you guys gave to me, it finally got me to the door of the woman's office. I learned a lot in one short appointment and I am looking forward to learning more about myself, my grief and my relationship with Chad. I will say, she was grateful I found you guys, the "online support group" because we spoke about things that i learned from you all and she was really shocked and happy that I found somewhere my feelings were validated and I had picked up so much good knowledge.

Hugs to all of you. I know this will be a difficult weekend for many.

That is wonderful, I am glad you went and it was positive. Therapy/counseling is not a walk in the park, but it can make such a big difference. It helped me immensely, as did being here at DS did.

Im glad its helping you, everyone has told me to seek counseling as well. I start on Thursday, hopefully my experience will be as positive as yours.

I hope counseling will help too. I have a lot of old baggage to open and air out. Hope the counselor doesn't become depressed over it and refer me to someone else right away. Crazy thought, but has been my experience so often with people.

Be patient with yourself and your visits will be helpful. I often leave my appointment with things to think about. Sharon

Jen- Please let me know how your appointment goes. Also, if you don't like it because of the therapist then pick another one! I got lucky and I like the woman I chose, but personality is so important.

Thanks all, I'm sure I'll have tons of questions about things that may be posed to me in my sessions, I go again tonight. I had a hard week last week, so I think this comes at a good time for me.

I encourage everyone to go to counseling. It's so helpful to get all the pent-up garbage out of our minds and hearts.

There are some days that I feel I have so much inside me that one day I'm going to burst open and out will come another person, who's hidden inside and holding onto all my "stuff" until I find an avenue to dump it on!

Morey was my sounding board and he allowed me to spew all the venom, questions and long indulged anger out with him. I did the same for him.

We all know what it's like to deal with this life on a daily basis, with work, family and friends. And, how important it is to express our frustration and angst with someone who loves and understands us, without judgment.

I lost that, when I lost Morey.......I hope that you find it with your counselor.
