I feel for you, the loss of my husband, Ben, just over 6 months ago, was a devastating time for me.
I am so glad you joined our DS family, we have a wonderful group of supportive,encouraging people here.
It is a good, safe place here, where you will be heard and loved, no matter what your feelings are.

Leo - I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I lost my wife suddently just 4 months ago. I have found that DS has helped me alot - especially with the questions that I have had. I also find that journaling helps me to get my feelings out with out having to burden another.

We are all here for you - the loss of a spouse, or life partner, is devastating, and takes time to work through. You have taken a great step by reaching out to others who do understand what you are going through.

We understand. We've all been there. It's heartbreaking.

Is there a grief support group in your area? Have you looked for a therapist? It's helpful to have someone to talk to.
It takes a long time to grieve, it's a tough journey.

Hi Leo - Yes, 3 months is such a short time ago. It's 7-1/2 months for me and I still feel so new to this. As you continue to read and post on DS, you'll read about what an emotional roller coaster this grief journey is. As others have said, you are not alone and this is a great site to post questions, thoughts and feelings. Take care. Karen

I understand how you are feeling, because I felt that way too. We lost not only our spouse, but our partner, our friend and the plans we had for the future. I'm sorry for your loss and hope being with people who share your journey makes your burden a little easier to bear. Sharon

Unfortunately our grief is somewhat of a lone journey. You can come here for support from those that are on parallel and similar paths. One thing I've learned is that I can't anticipate and expect the same support from friends or loved ones' unless they've experienced the same loss.

It's okay. I do understand those that can't hang with the grief and loss we are experiencing. I've learned to try not to burden those that haven't been there. (I wouldn't wish this on anyone!) I simply accept my sole journey and come here to DS to vent, cry, release, support and be supported albeit cyber.

DS is my rock right now. I am ever so grateful to ALL of our surrogate family here. Just know you are not alone, and we will be here throughout your journey as you need us.

I'm in a similar boat as you, leopold123. My partner of 23 years died 01/16/2015. I, too, feel like I'm just passing time. I am retired so I don't have to work, but I get from SS about 25% of what I made when I was working. There are a lot of good people here who really seem to care since most of us are going through similar things. I find something that really helps is to 'talk' out loud to my partner (John) even though he is dead and no longer here.

I'm sorry Leopold123. Things seem totally turned upside down emotionally, in every way I can think of. The pain not only hits hard, but occurs when I least expect it, which makes the impact seem worse. Lots of good people and advice here, don't know where I would be without them.
