Today when riding home from church with my son, DIL, and 4-yr. old grandson, we passed by a Colonel Sanders Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant. My grandson all of a sudden said, "Look - there's Grandpa Joe!" I asked where he was and my grandson said "Up there on the sign." I looked at the picture of Colonel Sanders and in about 2 seconds, I could see the resemblance with my husband, only without the goatee. I was amazed at the resemblance, which was subtle but right on. My precious grandson, although only 4, often talks about his Grandpa Joe. It so warms my heart! And the idea of his "seeing" his grandpa still in the world is amazing.

That is sweet...those little ones are so amazing. My oldest grand daughter was not quite 3 when her papa passed away, so I am not sure how much memory she will retain, but she amazes me sometimes with what she remembers now.

Very cute...I wish my kids could remember Todd. My four year old daughter reacts to military unfiorms, although she can't tell one from another yet. At least she has that small memory. peace..Kaaren

That is a cute story, and I think it is comforting. I will say hello to your husband today when I drive by our KFC. Hope you have a great day. Hugs~Shelley

I bet that made your day! That was so cute. Scully, my great grandson turned 3 the month after my husband died. He still talks about things he did with grandad. After he mentions what they did, then he will go on to tell me that he got sick & went to heaven. Kaaren, do the kids remember him from pictures?

Those are the kind of memories that you will treasure for ever. One of GOD's greatest gifts are grandchildren. I know that Kallene will always be remembered by her grandchildren as she always made each of them feel so special. Dan

Thank you for sharing this special moment given through the eyes of your grandson. It brought a smile to my face and heart. The very idea of someone else besides ourselves "seeing" our loved ones still existing in this world is awesome. Most especially a child.

Out of the mouth of babes! I love it when the little ones have memories that melt our hearts. My grandson still points to heaven when we ask where Pop-Pop is, and he recognizes him in pictures. I hope his memories last. Thanks for sharing!
