Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I’m feeling incomplete and my heartache so much.
My energy is really low now and easily irritable.
Thanks for the prayers. I’m also 38 this year. How did you cope since you lost Rick? I mean managing the children and yourself. Must be a handful handling six children on your own. How old were they when that happened?
I’m aware the journey ahead is long and uncertain. My priority would be the kids, their emotions and wellbeing. My kids are 3+ and they don’t seem too affected at the moment and they seemed to understand when I told them that daddy is not coming back.
I’m not sure if I should print pictures of our family outings and put them around the house to remind them of their dad or I should just let their memories fuzz.
For me, it’s hard to step out and reintegrate into my social life. Finding it hard to be happy and really don’t want to burden my friends with my emotions.
My husband passed away on 6/10/18 at the young age of 46. It was a heart attack.
Now, I'm heartbroken. I had known him since I was 14 years old and we had been married for 22 years.
He was the love of my left, my best friend, and the most amazing man I have ever known.
The pain and devastation that comes with losing a spouse is something I wish for no one. I am lost and lonely all the time.
We have two beautiful children, that are now young adults and have their own lives. The last thing I want to do is to be a burden to them.
I just feel like the pain will never go away. I recently just found this support group, so this is my first post. I hope this will be a place of comfort and I will keep you all in my prayers.
You are right, I don’t think I ever will get over it. Hit me right in the face.
I’m rather short fuse after his passing. Having panick attack and lack of energy.
It’s like trying to develop dual personality. Showing our ‘ok’ front while I am crumbling inside.
I also thought about leaving the country to have some time to cry out loud, bury my head in the pillow and just not do anything.
