Therein lies one of the differences between men and women. I was at my doctor's within two weeks. I specifically asked for something mild and non-addictive. It worked. Got me over some bad humps and I only take it when I'm driving myself mad.

Seriously though, I'm glad you're going for help. The way I figure, if you think you need help, you probably do. Prayers coming your way for you and your kids.

I'm so glad you had the strength to reach out for help. There is no shame in it. Those thoughts can be very serious and your kids love and need you. I will be praying for you.

Agree with tskks. It take a strong person to ask for help and a strong person to know when they need help. Hoping this goes well for you. I suppose you take your car to a mechanic when it is broken so a professional will look at it. Same with us...take it to a pro and let them figure out what may help. Good luck.

I'm feeling the same way right now. I need to call my doc and get some happy pills. I started looking for a new job because I thought it would help if I started something new. Now, I'm not so sure if I should be giving up something that has always been there as a constant, stable part of my life. It's been 8 months now since I lost my husband to cancer. His birthday is coming up this month too. The last month has been really rough for me so I completely understand what you are going through.

That is good. I have been thinking of doing the same. I have been slogging along and sometimes it gets just too hard. You will be in my prayers. Hang in there. Hugs.

I am glad you are getting help. Dealing with the loss of a spouse is much harder than we all ever imagined it would be. It is a tough road each and every day. We experience happiness every so often, but the sadness manages to find its way in.You definitely are in my prayers. You have a lot of weight on your shoulders--trying to deal with your wife's death as well as helping your children deal with it. --Mae
