Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
What I've learned through all of this is not to beat yourself up because you have done the best you could in raising them. You'll love them always of course, but they're grown and doing their own thing, now it's time for you to enjoy how many more years you have on this earth happy with your king!!
Children can be very selfish, and self centered and we as loving parents can become enabling and accepting of their behavior, without even realizing it ourselves... Your daughters are to old to be acting like this..You've been a supportive mom..Tell them they will always be welcome in "your" home and it will be up to them, to accept your new husband and life or not.. Don't give up your right to happiness for them..because what usually happens, is these kids move on with their own lives and think nothing of forgetting about you...
As far as your daughter posting love letters to your husband..maybe she is caring her own guilt that she didn't spend enough time with him...don't let her project this back on you...that's her baggage..
Tell them that what ever choices they make about your new marriage, is their choice...because life is all about choices...Give them time...maybe you need some distance, between you..
Take care and be happy in your new life, I'll bet your late husband would tell you the same...
Remember yesterday, Dream of tomorrow, But live for today...because that's all we really have..Gail.;-)
Best of luck to you and congratulations!
Love is wonderful! Live and love for today!
