My beautiful, loving, caring, kind hearted wife along with my heart left for heaven on Jan.22/18. At the young age of 46, she fought so hard in her 15 month battle with cancer. My Warrior. I always used to joke with her and say "Valentines Day was created so you could get more flowers." She'd laugh and smile at me, like no one else ever could. Like it came straight from her heart. I always bought her flowers, among other gifts. She loved flowers. They brought her joy. You could see it that smile. I so wish i could buy her flowers today.

My wife passed 5 months ago today unexpectedly after 10 years of fighting cancer. Obviously Valentine’s Day meaning has changed for me. My heart goes out to you the first month was very difficult.

The holidays and anniversaries are hard ones. I know your heart is shattered right now. We are suppose to have our loved ones with us but instead we have to remember this day and others before they went away. She is in an endless field of flowers and sending you that smile you love so much.

Hold on to those beautiful memories. Although she was too young, how wonderful that you had one another and an obviously deep love. That's what we have to try and hold on to. The pain is deep because the love was so great. Sending you a hug and all my sympathies. Marybeth

Thank You all! Your stories and incite for what may come is invaluable. It sucks that we are all on here and "meeting" this way. i look forward to many conversations and friends. Maybe I will be able to one day help someone in need of wise words or just a simple hug. The one thing this journey with my wife taught me, among others, is compassion.
