I'm sorry for your loss, I lost my wife in November of 2012, our son is now 11. I've been raising him by myself, and can tell you things will get better and easier. Take things one day at a time, and take time for yourself. Everyone's grief is different, but similar, and you will find a lot of understanding, caring people here who can relate.

I a so sorry you are going through this. I feel your sadness and pain..It seems like you are feeling profound sadness for three people., You, your husband and your beautiful, little daughter. That can be overwhelming!

The first year was the hardest... The first everything without Ed. Truth be told the second hasn't been all that easy either. Give yourself a break when you have the ability. Cry and be angry you've lost such an important part of your life when you can. Then wipe your face, and take care of your daughter the best you can. Our kids are 16 and 13 and when they are feeling down I tell them it's okay to be sad. Your Dad was pretty amazing. Then I remind them the best way to honor him is to lead the best life they possibly can. I try to apply that to my life as well. Not always easy, but there is alot of people here to support you and can really understand the pain you feel. Take care of yourself.

I'm very sorry for your loss and your daughter's loss of her dad. Let her know that he is missed by both of you. Talk about dad and how much he loves her and you. I was fortunate enough to share 40 years with my husband. He watched our children grow into adulthood, but missed the retirement plans we made.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and your daughter's loss. Reading your post was like reading my own heart...in other words, I feel the exact same way with regards to feeling worse as time goes by, and being bombarded by memories of the past 22 years...and of wanting to hurry up and die so I can be with him. I cant offer any advice, but can tell you that you are not alone in these feelings. Take care, and hopefully there are better days coming for all of us

I am so sorry for your loss. Those first months are so very intense that it is almost impossible to even breathe. I have no words to help make things better for you right now. I can only offer you the hope that as time goes on, the pain gets a little less intense and at some point you will discover that you can breathe again and even begin holding your head up and looking toward the future without intense fear. All of this takes time, and I know of no shortcuts.
